Robbie Whittle is an aspiring multimedia journalist from Charlotte, North Carolina. Robbie graduated from the University of South Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in December of 2020. In his last semester in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Robbie rotated between talent and production positions everyday in a real news room operated by the school. He was able to gain valuable experience from the talent side as well as the production side of the news room that he looks forward to using in another professional setting. Robbie's biggest improvement over the course of his last semester came in story telling which is now his strongest tool when making reporter packages. He also has quality experience with anchoring as well as doing the sports and weather casts for shows. His final semester truly prepared him to take on the responsibility of being a full-time multimedia journalist. In the past, Robbie has interned with a local news station in Columbia SC (WACH FOX-57) where he had the opportunity to learn all about the local news industry in a station owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. At WACH FOX-57, Robbie gained practice shooting interactive stand ups, putting together reporter packages and practicing anchoring. Although Robbie is looking to enter local news as an MMJ, his goal is to one day transition over to filming and interviewing athletes who compete in extreme sports such as snowboarding, surfing, and skating.
